Adobe Forms
Adobe Forms (XDP form templates)
Also known as: XDP, SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe
The PDF form technology of SAP output management: an XDP layout template bound to a form data XML; the cloud replacement for SAPscript and Smart Forms.
An Adobe form consists of a layout template (XDP) and a form interface. At runtime the application produces a data XML, and each field of the layout is bound to a path in it. If the path does not match — a different name, namespace or structure — the field stays empty.
SAPscript is not available in ABAP Cloud and SAP S/4HANA Cloud, and Smart Forms are unsupported in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Such forms are rebuilt as Adobe Forms or replaced by SAP-delivered form templates.
In ERP Preflight
FormDoctor checks the bindings of an XDP template against runtime XML and interface schema and detects legacy SAPscript and Smart Forms; the free form XML field checker tests a single field path.
