Deprecated object
Deprecated SAP object
An SAP object that still works but is marked for replacement: SAP names a successor and can withdraw the object in a later release.
Deprecation is a release state. The object stays usable for now, but SAP can withdraw it in a later release, so plan the switch to the successor before the next upgrade.
APIs are deprecated the same way: a released CDS view, class or behavior definition can be deprecated in favour of a newer one. Because the state is published per release, an object can be released in one release and deprecated in the next.
In ERP Preflight
Clean Core Object Guard reports every use of a deprecated object in custom code and names the successor; API Change Guard flags elements marked deprecated between two API versions; the free API deprecation lookup lists deprecated APIs per release.
